Stephen Sparks

Stephen lives in Toronto. A much sought after performer, he has appeared on most major Canadian stages from coast to coast. Most recently as Sam in Mama Mia and Captain Vonn Trapp in Sound of Music. This will be his tenth production of a Norm Foster play. Stephen has been nominated for a Dora award (Toronto’s Tony) . He is also a playwright and his two plays, co-written with his wife Shelley Hoffman, have had multiple productions and one was nominated for a Tom Hendry comedy award.

Television credits include: Murdoch mysteries, The Boys, Designated Survivor, Reign, Warehouse 13, Lost Girl, Mayday etc.

Maria Dinn

Playing: Mary Hayes

This will be Maria’s debut performance with the Atlantis Theatre and she is thrilled to be here in the Bahamas with you all performing in Norm Foster’s hilarious, Screwball Comedy. Having performed in many theaters across Canada, Maria’s heart has always been in the theater. She’s also made guest-star appearances in television shows such as, Hemlock Grove, Republic of Doyle, and Satisfaction. Maria would like to thank Heather and the Atlantis Theatre for giving her this opportunity to play Maria’s favorite roles to date!

Heather Hodgson Kosoy

Playing: Jonesy / Dolores / Gloria

Ms. Hodgson has performed  across Canada on a variety of stages including  the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, the Manitoba Theatre Centre, Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton, the Globe Theatre in Regina and as a Company member of both Drayton Entertainment and the  Stratford Shakespeare Festival. Her  film and television work finds her featured in a variety of both American and Canadian productions. She was a recurring cast member in CityTV’s award winning television series  Meet The Family and she recently executive produced and starred in the award-winning short film Pink. Ms. Hodgson is currently a resident of the Bahamas.

D. Sean Nottage

Playing: Jeffrey Kincaide

Sean is an actor, voice artist, wealth management consultant and real estate professional.  With American and Bahamian heritage, he descends from a Bahamian family with roots in Eleuthera.  Sean has been a theatre actor for many years, primarily as part of the Ringplay Theatre Company in Nassau and the Shakespeare in Paradise company.  He is also engaged with Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox, Massachusetts in its center for actor training. Sean won a DANSA award for his role as Juror #8 in Ringplay Productions’ presentation of ’12 Angry Men’ for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play.  Sean has also played Bill Coles in ‘Other People’s Money,’ Torvald Hemler in ‘A Doll’s House,’ Karl/Steve in ‘Clybourne Park,’ Manolo in ‘The Odd Couple’ (female version) and David in ‘The Foreigner.’  Sean also starred in Two Hoops Production’s production of The Long Weekend here at the Atlantis Theatre last year as Max Trueman. His extensive work in Shakespeare productions has seen Sean as Benedick in ‘Much Ado About Nothing,’ Roderigo in ‘Othello,’ MacDuff in ‘Macbeth,’ Orsino in ‘Twelfth Night’ and the Captain in ‘The Tempest.’  In film, Sean has had supporting roles in independent films, including ‘Wind Jammers’ and ‘Cargo’ and has leading roles in two TV series released in 2023. For a time, Sean was Photo Double and Stand-In for Pierce Brosnan.  As a voice artist, Sean has provided the voice for numerous radio and TV commercials and promos around the world as well as narrations and radio imaging.  He is the male imaging voice of Y98FM in Nassau.  Sean is also a lawyer and consultant in the wealth management industry as well as a real estate agent; but he is not really a newspaper reporter.

Norm Foster

Playwright

Norm Foster has been called Canada’s preeminent comic playwright. Numbered among his 70 plays are The Foursome, Jonas and Barry in the Home, On A First Name Basis, The Love List, Outlaw, Lunenburg, Hilda’s Yard, Doris and Ivy in the Home, Halfway There and Come Down From Up River. He is the recipient of the Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award for his play, The Melville Boys and is an Officer of the Order of Canada.

His plays are also produced extensively throughout Europe. This May, his play Mending Fences will begin a two-year run in Paris, France. His most recent plays include Whit’s End and Those Movies, both of which will premiere at the Foster Festival in St. Catharine’s this summer. The Foster Festival, is going into its eighth year.

Foster also has a new play titled Lakefront, which will premiere at the Lighthouse Theatre in Port Dover, Ontario this summer.

Norm lives in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Chris McHarge

Director

Chris has been directing for 35 years and has served as Artistic Director at Lighthouse Festival Theatre in Port Dover, Canada, Artistic and Executive Director of Theatre on the Grand in Fergus, Canada, as well as former Artistic Associate at Theatre Aquarius in Hamilton, Canada. Chris maintains an active schedule as a freelance director and producer, and has worked throughout Canada, in Europe, in the United States, and in the Caribbean. In his career he has directed well over 100 productions including more than 45 world premieres, and has been nominated for a number of awards including the Eleanor and Lou Siminovitch Prize in Theatre (2001 & 2004), the Township of Centre Wellington Artist of the Year Award, the Canada Council John Hirsch Award and the Pauline McGibbon Award for directing. More significantly, Chris is known as the director of choice for Norm Foster, Canada’s most produced playwright. Chris is most proud of his adult kids Caitlyn, Erin, and Quinn, who are off carving their own paths of success in this world.

Barb McLean

Stage Manager

Barb is thrilled to be at the Atlantis Theatre!! With 35 years experience as a stage manager, she has worked for many theatre companies in Canada, the Caribbean. and Germany including The Capitol Theatre, More Entertainment, Ross Petty Productions, Mirvish, The Grand Theatre, Drayton Entertainment, Theatre Northwest, Upper Canada Playhouse, STC, Magnus, Theatre Aquarius, Centaur, Theatre Orangeville, Lighthouse Festival, and The Foster Festival. Barb thanks Heather Kosoy, Chris McHarge, the cast and the production/design team for all their hard work and fun, and as always, her family and friends for their never-ending love and support. Daniele Guillaume

Stage Manager

Stephen is delighted to return for another Two Hoops production. A busy actor based in Toronto, he has worked in theatres across Canada. Recently he played Captain Von Trapp in Sound of Music and Sam in Mama Mia. His T.V. credits include roles on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Boys, Murdoch Mysteries and many more.

William Chesney

Set Designer

After more than 300 productions designed or scenic painted, Bill is delighted to be working for the first time at the Atlantis, and collaborating again with director Chris McHarge.

Associate professor emeritus – Stagecraft, University of Waterloo, 1995-2020; also Associate Dean of Arts – Undergraduate Students 2007-2019. Originator and designer of COMET IN MOOMINLAND, an immersive puppet production based on the beloved classic by famed author-illustrator Tove Jansson, which has toured worldwide and appeared on Broadway in 2017.

Bill has three grown children and lives in Guelph, Ontario.

Renée is a lighting designer for theater, musicals, opera, and dance in the US, Canada and internationally.
